Australian company, Kollakorn is tagging Thai vehicles with RFID tags for the Thailand Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) program, and has earned US$ 220,000. This amount was made by tagging 55,000 vehicles at $4 a vehicle.
The Thai EVR program has made it mandatory that all buses that operate in Bangkok and up to 300km from the Thai capital be tagged. As a result Kollakorn is set to tag an additional 14,000 buses with its SMARTRFID tag technology. This will result in an extra US $56,000 worth of revenue.
The contract with the Thai vehicle company is key for delivering tags used to aid vehicle registration, free flow, speed monitoring, parking, congestion tolling, fleet management, border security and access control.
