The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Linen Technology Tracking, LLC the Notice of Allowance. The announcement was made just after Linen Technology Tracking, LLC introduced their revolutionary solution, Linentracker®, to the hotel industry. The company’s patent called The Method and System of Tracking Hotel Linen Products was originally filed on September 29, 2008. The company is known for using linen tracking RFID (radio frequency identification) technology in hotels.
Linentracker® allows for a smoother monitoring system for the hospitality industry. One of the greatest expenses in running a hotel is the cost of linen. Many hotels run without even realizing just how expensive their linens actually are and easily they disappear. The new solution allows for the decrease in thefts, loss, and laundry damage to linen due to the radio frequency technology tags that are attached to each linen piece. These movable assets can be better controlled and monitored as a result of the Linentracker® solution.
An integration of passive UHF Radio Frequency Identification technology and high performance custom SMARTtags (Gen2) help to withstand over 550 cycles in commercial washing, drying and ironing.
The location and history of the SMARTtags can be kept up to date in real time. Hotel management can keep track of and access the information on a specific web based dashboard or through a text message or email. The number lost, age of the linen and real time inventory counts can be recorded.
The overall costs of materials in the hotel industry can be greatly reduced as a result of the Linentracker® solution.
