ITAC Presents Educational Webinar on RFID and NFC Technology
(RFID World Canada) To better reflect the rapid growth of the NFC platform and our expectation of future innovations, the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) is pleased to announce our renamed RFID / NFC and Sensor Technology Forum. NFC stands for Near field communication and is a set of standards for smart-phones and similar mobile devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity. Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as wi-fi. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification and is the use of a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to exchange data from a tag attached to an object to automate identification and tracking.
To kick-off this initiative, Markham-based RFID Canada has developed an educational RFID / NFC Business WebEx for the benefit of ITAC members. The WebEx will focus on how business leaders can increase revenue and relate an exciting customer experience using new RFID / NFC technology. ITAC members will be introduced to a revolutionary way to brand, use, interact and embrace technology and how to integrate business and NFC technology to benefit the bottom line.
RFID / NFC technology can provide solutions for the following areas:
- Patient care (health care)
- Security and access control
- Social media marketing integration
- Enhancing events (e.g., music festivals, sporting events, theme parks)
- Retail marketing
- Magazine advertising
- Smart posters
ITAC’s RFID / NFC Business WebEx will be offered:
November 7 – 9:30 am to 10:15 am
November 15 – 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm
