(RFIDWorld.ca) GAO RFID Inc. has just launched its compact passive UHF RFID single chip tag made for numerous indoor and outdoor applications. This RFID tag is made to work efficiently in touch environments around metals, liquids, and any other conditions that are not RF friendly.

Passive UHF RFID Tag
Passive UHF RFID Tag

This new tag reads accurately and writes to RFID tags on containers, bins and vehicles up to a distance of 50 meters.

Plastic cables ties or or screws can be used to mount the tags up on rail cars, trucks, reusable totes, heavy machinery, and cargo containers.

The model number of the passive RFID tag is 136006 and it works over a frequency range of 902MHz to 928MHz in North America and 865MHz to 868MHz in Europe. This tag comes with built-in application-specific security in addition to low turn-on threshhold, high receive signal sensitivity, mutli-state wake-up and backscatter efficiency.  Its security is enhances because it uses password controlled read and write.

To read from the reader to the tag, it uses amplitude modulated forward link and to send frequencies from tag to reader, it utilizes frequency modulated receive link. The passive UHF RFID tag offers data rates of 8kb/s for forward link and 32kb/s for backward link.  Since the tag has the ability to activate selected groups of tags, it is able to identify the storage of tagged item data much faster.

The tag is able to perform in very harsh environemnts due to its IP67 protection rating.
